Another helicopter belonging to the aviation department of the Volta River Authority (VRA), was forced to make an emergency landing in Nkawkaw, in the early hours of Monday 11th August, 2025. According to snippets of information gathered by KMJ Official, the emergency landing, which happened in Nkawkaw, in the Kwahu West Municipality in the eastern region was as a result of poor visibility.
The aircraft, with registration number 9G-AFW was flying from Accra to Kumasi with four crew members on board including foreign nationals. Fortunately, all crew members on board escaped the nearly fatal accident unharmed
According to an eyewitmess, the chopper veering mid air because of bad weather conditions and had to make an emergency landing at Ampekrom, close to the Nkawkaw bypass.
