My stage name actually means nothing – Nasty C

My stage name actually means nothing – Nasty C

South African rapper Nasty C is rebranding to Ivyson in honour of his late mother, a change he has considered for a while and intends to make when he feels the moment is right in his career.
The name “Nasty C” itself holds no special meaning, as he has stated he simply put random letters together and chose it because it sounded good, leading him to seek a more personal name for his future projects. He initially used “Nasty Cat” before the “Nasty C” stage name, with some speculation about his reasons for the original name including a story about his past.
The rapper in an interview stated that his stage name which he’s used ever since he took his shine in the music industry actually means nothing and he’s come to terms with it and plans to change his name.
“My stage name NASTY C actually means nothing. I just took a bunch of random letters and put them together. When I saw that it sounded nice, I went with it. But now, I’m changing my stage name to IVYSON — in honour of my late mum”.
It will be recalled that sometime in July, the rapper hinted that he will change his name which gave fans reason to question why the sudden decision to change his name.

“I would change my name from Nasty C to… But I feel like I have to reach a certain level in my career before I can change that and just be like, “Ivyson,” and that’s it. I’m just waiting for the right moment. I have to make it in the world first like Globally — everyone has to recognize me then I could change it.” He said

The rapper believes that a more meaningful name like Ivyson allows him to better align his professional identity with his personal journey and growth as an artist.
Nasty C was previously known by the name “Nasty Cat” before adopting “Nasty C,” showcasing a journey of artistic evolution.
He believes strongly the new name “Ivyson” is a direct link to his mother, giving it a strong emotional and personal foundation that his original name lacked.
