Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy has extended a generous hand to Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, donating GH₵100,000 to support their upcoming international campaign.
While amputee football is often associated with adaptive multi-sport tournaments and para-athletics, the financial boost comes as the Black Challenge prepares for the 2026 World Cup in Mexico.
Stonebwoy made the presentation during a personal visit to the team’s training session at the Mensah Sarbah Park in Accra, where he interacted with the squad and offered words of encouragement.
Addressing the players and coaching staff, the musician praised the team’s resilience and dedication to bringing pride to the nation despite facing systemic funding challenges.
“The challenges that you are facing in your lives, may God remove all those challenges because you are already facing challenges to support and represent us, and we appreciate it,” Stonebwoy stated during his address to the team.
The players and officials expressed deep gratitude for the gesture, noting that beyond the financial assistance, Stonebwoy’s physical presence and encouragement provided a significant boost to team morale.
Ghana’s national amputee team has consistently performed on the global stage, winning the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) and solidifying their status as one of the continent’s most formidable para-sports teams.

Stonebwoy also called on corporate bodies, government institutions, and private individuals to step up support for para-sports athletes who continue to represent Ghana honorably on the world stage.
