The government of Ghana through The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has expressed its plans to evacuate all citizens from Iran and Israel amid ongoing conflicts between the two countries. Foreign Affairs Minster Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made the pronouncement through his official Facebook account on Monday, 16 June, 2025 and citing government’s quest to rescue and protect Ghanaian nationals living in the two war embattled country.

The honorable minister further indicated that, the Ghanaian Embassy in Iranian capital Tehran, has been closed down with immediate effect and operations at the Ghanaian embassy in Israeli capital Tel Aviv has been reduced to the barest minimum as efforts to ensure the safety of Ghanaian citizens regardless pf their location.
