“Use Your Fame Wisely” – Gloria Sarfo urges celebrities to drive positive social change

Award-winning Ghanaian actress and media personality Gloria Sarfo has issued a passionate appeal to public figures and celebrities across the country, urging them to leverage their fame and platforms for social good rather than short-lived clout.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with media personality Sammy Kay at the VL Exposure 2026 event, the veteran actress highlighted the responsibility public figures carry toward their audiences, emphasizing that widespread influence must always be paired with purpose.

Gloria Sarfo advocated for celebrities to step up as champions for social causes, using their reach to redirect public attention toward societal development, health campaigns, and charitable work.

“Use your fame wisely,” Sarfo urged. “Celebrities need to champion meaningful causes and make a positive impact on society.”

Beyond addressing her peers in the creative arts, the actress expressed deep concern over what she observed as a growing apathy among the youth regarding educational and empowerment opportunities.

Specifically pointing to the surprisingly low turnout of young people particularly students from the University of Ghana at programs designed to mentor and empower them, Sarfo called for a mindset shift among the younger generation. She urged university students to take full advantage of educational seminars and networking platforms, while encouraging youth across the nation to exercise patience, build resilience, and trust the process of their personal and professional growth rather than chasing quick success.
