Media personality Bobie Ansah has publicly issued an apology to Afropop and dancehall icon Stonebwoy following backlash over controversial comments regarding his preference between Stonebwoy and rival artist Shatta Wale.
Addressing Stonebwoy directly in a public message, Ansah expressed sincere regret for his previous statements, emphasizing that he never intended to undermine the award-winning musician’s legacy or insult him personally.
“Hi bruv, I send you my sincere apologies concerning comments I made with respect to my choice between you and Shatta. Respectfully, I did not intend to take a swipe at your person,” Ansah wrote. He acknowledged Stonebwoy’s stature in the Ghanaian music space, adding, “You’ve played your role in the Ghana music industry and [are] a legend in your own rights. I therefore cannot in any way run you down or disrespect you.”
Ansah clarified that his apology was prompted solely by Stonebwoy’s expressed displeasure rather than the wave of backlash from fans, citing his own long history of public and political controversy.
“I’m apologizing not because of the insults from your base,” Ansah noted. “I’m here to do the needful since you’ve shown displeasure over my comments, which I thought [was] a genuine observation.”

Closing on a note of unity and reconciliation, Ansah called for mutual respect within the creative community. “It takes you and I to make Ghana a better place; practically, we cannot live under the roof of hostility,” he stated before concluding with a final appeal for forgiveness: “I’m sorry my @Stonebwoy. Cheers Bro!”
Stonebwoy has not yet publicly responded to the apology.
