Chris Brown facing $90M lawsuit after not calling 911 for housekeeper

Chris Brown admitted in court he didn’t personally call 911 after his dog MAULED his housekeeper because he was scared the recording would leak to the media.

Brown says he was about to take a shower when he heard growling. He ran downstairs and found his housekeeper, Maria Avila, face down in the driveway, bleeding BADLY after being attacked by a large security dog named Hades (a roughly 200-pound Caucasian Shepherd). He secured the dog in a kennel, yelled for his guard, and checked to see if she was breathing, but he didn’t call 911 himself

Instead, he called his business manager to make the emergency call. Brown testified he was worried the 911 recording would leak and get twisted into misleading stories because of his celebrity status.

His team also advised him to leave the property before paramedics and police arrived to avoid the media turning it into a “circus.” He says he stayed with her until help came.

Avila was left with severe facial injuries, stitches, swelling, and claims she suffered nerve damage and partial blindness. She later sued Brown and his team in 2021 for $90 million.

The case recently went to trial in June 2026 but ended in a mistrial after a juror was caught researching the case online and sharing information. It is now heading to a retrial.
